Disgruntled politicians in Patna on Monday, at a function organized supposedly to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Sahajanand Saraswati, took out their anger at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar while portraying themselves as the men of high character and the true well-wishers of the people of Bihar.

After momentary mention of the man supposed to be honored at the function organized at the Sri Krishna Memorial Hall, angry Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (U) leaders, some former, some still in the party, took the NDA administration to task by accusing it of encouraging criminals in the state and forgetting the agenda of development.

Among those who took their anger out in the name of Swami Sahajanand were former Bihar Health Minister Chandramohan Rai, former Transport Minister Ajit Kuamr, and former MLA Janardan Sharma, among others.

The leaders accused the Chief Minister of ignoring the Bhumihar community in Bihar saying Nitish Kumar used them to grab power in the state but threw them out after insulting them when he felt their support was not required any longer.

“This administration is made up of sycophants who tell the Chief Minister what he wants to hear. Give him some real truth and suddenly you become a pariah in your own administration,” Chandramohan Rai said.
Earlier, Governor R. L. Bhatia paid floral tribute to Sahajanand. Others who paid brief tribute to the social activist who would have turned 120 years old this year included Energy Minister Ramashray Prasad and several prominent members of the Bhumihar community.
